Trilogy of Books Earns Professor AERA Award
Dr. Diana Hiatt-Michael, GSEP professor of education, has received the American Educational Research Association's (AERA) prestigious 2004 Outstanding Contributions Relating Research to Practice Award in the interpretive scholarship category.
Hiatt-Michael was selected from thousands of educators nationwide based on her work as editor of the trilogy of monographs sponsored by AERA. The formal announcement of the award was made at the April 14 AERA Annual Meeting Awards Presentation and Presidential Address in San Diego. Hiatt-Michael was commended for developing the monographs, which "together provide a comprehensive and informative set of materials that connect research to practice," according to one of the judges.
