Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series Inspires Agents of Change

Jerome Boschee

The inaugural Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series event welcomed Mr. Jerr Boschee, executive director of the Institute for Social Entrepreneurs and one of the founders of the social enterprise movement worldwide, on October 20, 2010, at the Rave Motion Pictures theatre, across from the West Los Angeles Graduate Campus. He addressed more than 100 attendees during his discussion of the evolution of the social enterprise; potential dangers for organization seeking to launch a social enterprise; and case studies of failed and successful social enterprises from a dozen countries.

The series is generously sponsored by alumna Dr. Susan Rice (EdD ’86), a member of the Pepperdine University Board of Regents and director of the GSEP Board of Visitors, and husband Don. The series supports the GSEP mission of educating students to lead lives of purpose, service, and leadership.
